You may have heard the quote "all the world's a stage". This year that is certainly true for me! Welcome to Reading Intervention, better known as "that class that's up on the stage"!
My name is Ms. Walsh, and I'm thrilled to be working with your child this year. This is my 27th year teaching. Of those years, 10 have been spent in reading intervention. I have a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Southern Colorado and have completed the coursework for Reading Specialist certification in the state of Missouri. Along with this, I have recently been awarded the designation of being "Highly Qualified" to work with English Language Learners by the state of Colorado.
I have lived in Colorado four times! Despite having lived here for well over half of my life, I had only been to Greeley one time prior to interviewing here at Jackson. My family and I are enjoying learning all about life in Northern Colorado.
I have two school-aged sons, both of whom attend Greeley schools. We share our home with two very spoiled cats. Well, considering the cats' point of view, maybe I should say that they share their home with us!
During my free time I enjoy reading, attending baseball games, volunteering at my church, baking, and doing crafts. Any of my students can tell you that I love Toy Story. Stop by to chat sometime and I'll tell you all the reasons why!
