50 Year Remembrance

Over fifty years ago, in December 1961, a tragic bus-train accident just east of Greeley took the lives of 20 children and injured many more. East Memorial Elementary School, which opened the following year, was named in honor of those on board the bus that day.

On October 13, 2011, the school held a remembrance and tree-planting ceremony at the school. Families and community members affected by the tragic crash attended the ceremony.
