  • We want all of our students to come to school dressed for the weather.  We engage in outdoor recess every day unless the staff chooses to keep the students inside.
    Remember, snow stays on the ground!  Our CUBS show COURAGE everyday inside & outside of the school!

March COURAGE Assembly

We CELEBRATE Winograd!

Winograd CUBS gathered in the gym on Thursday, March 19th for an action-packed COURAGE Assembly.  We started our time together by singing along with the "COURAGE of the CUB" video, then celebrated our T-Time, Highest Average Daily Attendance, Library Challenge, and COURAGE Award winners.

Our own First Grader Grace Gerbers was the K-5 choice to represent all of School District #6 at the Colorado Association of School Boards state conference.  Mrs. Puckett gave her a professionally mounted frame for her artwork as well as a certificate in recognition for her efforts.

The Girls Basketball team was recognized for their winning season and the girls took the opportunity to award special treats to Coach Inloes.4th grade
The Fourth Graders introduced their Community Service Project which is to sell animal-related products in the school store to raise money for the "Wild Animal Sanctuary."
2nd grade
The Second Graders introduced their Community Service Project which is gathering canned goods for the Weld Food Bank.  
It was a busy assembly with much to celebrate!

The Winograd 3rd Graders fueled up in the cafeteria for PARCC testing the morning of March 18th.  They are ready to show what they know during our school's testing period.

 Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
We had a hallway of "cool" cats in our school on Friday, February 27th as our Kindergarten, First and Second grade students celebrated Theodor Seuss Geisel's Birthday.  Our teachers had fun dressing up as one of Dr. Seuss' best loved characters while our students read, read, read all day!seuss

CUBS Spelling Bee Results!
The results are in...and we have a winner!  Leila S. from Mrs. Douglas's 4th grade will represent Winograd K-8 School at the State Spelling Bee in Denver on Saturday, March 14th.  We are proud of her!
A written test was administered throughout the day on Tuesday, February 17th.  The top 15 spellers then competed in an oral round which took place on Monday, February 23, 2015.  
Mrs. Mattenklodt also announced the runners-up.  They are:  2nd Place, Simone C. (7th Grade); 3rd Place, Aliyah V. (5th Grade); 4th Place, Logon O. (7th Grade); and 5th Place, Kiley D. (8th Grade).

Congratulations to all of these hard working CUBS!
