A Fitting Tribute
to an AWESOME teacher!
 M J-H
At the last staff meeting of the year, the staff presented a sign to honor Mrs. Jansen-Hedricks upon her retirement.  She established our school's outdoor classroom in the fall of 2006 when she first came to the school as a 6th grade Science teacher.  The flourishing habitat is a testament to her faithful dedication to her students, our school and our earth.  We will miss her and wish her well!

The Last day of the
2013-2014 year...
Our CUBS were busy!
We celebrated the last day of our school year together in many ways.  We started the day with the 8th Grade Celebration Breakfast.  We had the Middle School Awards at 9 a.m., and our Kindergarten Celebration at 11 a.m.

The 3rd graders had a pizza party to celebrate their awesome TCAP scores.  The 2nd graders had a picnic, the 1st graders had a BBQ, and we all enjoyed treats and yearbook signings in our rooms.  And our CUBS also went to their regularly scheduled Art, Music, PE, Library, & Technology classes!

We hope our students had a safe summer as they play, read, relax, and investigate.  We'll see you all back at the school on Thursday, August 14th!

Final COURAGE Assembly

Winograd CUBS shared their final all-school assembly on Thursday, May 15, 2014.  Students from each grade who showed all of the attributes of COURAGE were awarded COURAGE Awards.

Third graders were celebrated for their AWESOME work on their Reading TCAP tests.  (This year's class scored the highest that any 3rd Grade class has scored in our school's history.)
Students who turned in all of their T-Time journals this year were awarded a T-Time Teddy and a book of their choice.
It was a great event and a fabulous way to spend our last time together as CUBS this 2013-2014 school year.

Field Day...Been There, Rocked That!

Field Day took place Thursday, May 15, 2014.  The weather held long enough for Kindergarteners through 5th graders to move from station to station for fun and exercise.  Kudos to Mrs. Hughes-Coffman for a well-run and safe event!  Thanks also to the COURAGE Team for working the various events.  These middle school students did a great job.  CUBS show COURAGE everywhere!
