What is PBIS?

“PBIS” is short for Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports. It is a school system that helps students become responsible for their own behavior and learning. We have a committee of teachers and staff members at Monfort that keep PBIS on the right track. PBIS encompasses everything from ON TRACK tickets, Off TRACK tickets, school assemblies, incentives, etc. One of the products of PBIS is something we call Family Circles.

What are Family Circles?

Family Circles are groups of K-5th grade students who meet monthly with sixth grade leaders and a classroom teacher. The 6th grader's job is to conduct the Family Circle meeting (planned by the PBIS committee) while the classroom teacher is there to support the 6th grader leaders.
