Dear Shawsheen Elementary Community,

As the new principal of Shawsheen Elementary, it is my deepest pleasure and honor to become part of your school community.  Shawsheen has a long history of dedicated teachers, staff, parents, family, community members and students.  What I know about this community is that there is a common theme among us of truly believing that the quality education of our students is one of the most important things we can do.

Before coming to Shawsheen Elementary, I taught elementary, junior high, and high school, served as a district administrator in Poudre School District, and was an instructor at Colorado State University in the teacher preparation program.  I recently completed my PhD in Education and focused on teacher training and developing teachers’ skills in working with diverse populations.

Personally, I am the mother of a nine year old daughter.  I have a passion for animals, gardening, reading, painting, and jewelry making.

It is important to me that our parents, family members, and community are involved and feel welcomed at Shawsheen.  I hope to see you often.

My role is to ensure that we are providing our students with everything they need to be successful community members.  I look forward to a great 2013-2014 school year.

Sincerely,

Dr. Christine Aguilar
