As the Director of eLearning and Principal of ENGAGE Online Academy, I am responsible for the curriculum, assessment and instructional design of ENGAGE courses as well as the day-to-day operation of the school.  I am also responsible for the implementation of instructional technology in schools across Greeley-Evans Weld County District 6.  Prior to becoming the Director of eLearning I worked as the Secondary Curriculum, Assessment, and Professional Development Coordinator in the areas of math, science and social studies, supervised instructional coaches, and coordinated the Math and Science Partnership Grant (MSP). Coordinating the MSP Grant provided the opportunity to work at the national level with leaders in the fields of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).  My extensive work in these areas has prepared me to lead the development of ENGAGE Online Academy.  

Before moving to Colorado to become an administrator I taught U.S. History, Government, AP Government and Economics in Glendale Arizona at Independence High School for 9 years.  I was also the varsity boys’ basketball coach for 7 years at Independence.   Leaving teaching and coaching was difficult because of the relationships and impact on student learning I had developed at Independence, but decided to leave because of the opportunity to expand my impact on the lives of even more students.

My commitment to students and parents is to make sure that all students enjoy a meaningful, quality online learning experience that provides students access to best colleges and universities and making sure that every ENGAGE teacher is committed to facilitating this goal.

I am building a school I want my 3 kids to attend to prepare them for the world. And, I believe all kids deserve the same opportunity to attend a school like ENGAGE.
