Announcements

  • Students will need a few supplies in order to make sure they are ready for band.  Just as paper and pencils are important for your core classes, the following is a list of supplies that are important for everyone as we begin this school year.

    Flute Students

    ·     Tradition of Excellence band book, Level 1 (red) for Flute

    ·     Travel-size bottle of mouthwash, any variety, to use as disinfectant

     Clarinet Students

    ·     Tradition of Excellence band book, Level 1 (red) for Bb Clarinet

    ·     Mitchell Lurie clarinet reeds; 1 box of reeds strength 2, 1 box of reeds strength 2.5, and 1 box of reeds strength 3.  Be prepared to need more reeds as the school year goes on; expect to go through approximately one reed per week. This brand of reeds will last longer than most others, and they will also help produce the best sound.  You will not be able to participate in class without reeds and will consequently lose participation points without them.

    ·     Travel-size bottle of mouthwash, any variety, to use as disinfectant

     Saxophone Students

    ·     Tradition of Excellence band book, Level 1 (red) for Eb Alto Saxophone

    ·     Frederick Hemke alto saxophone reeds; 1 box of reeds strength 2, 1 box of reeds strength 2.5, and 1 box of reeds strength 3.

    Trumpet Students

    ·     Tradition of Excellence band book, Level 1 (red) for Bb Trumpet

    ·     Valve Oil (this is different from slide oil; be sure you get the correct product!)

    ·     Travel-size bottle of mouthwash, any variety, to use as disinfectant

     Trombone Students

    ·     Tradition of Excellence band book, Level 1 (red) for Trombone

    ·     Slide Grease (may be in grease, oil, or cream form; this is different from valve oil, so be sure you get the correct product!)

    ·     Travel-size bottle of mouthwash, any variety, to use as disinfectant

     Percussion Students

    ·     Tradition of Excellence band book, Level 1 (red) for Mallets and Percussion

    ·     At least one pair of xylophone mallets, rubber style preferred

Contact Information and Teacher Bio

Hello! My name is Robyn Albertson.  This is my first year at Winograd K-8 school.  I grew up in Hygiene, Colorado, a small town that sits between Longmont and Lyons.  I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelors in Music Education and a minor in Spanish.  I have lived in Greeley for 6 years now and I absolutely love it here.

This year I am teaching Kindergarten general music, second grade music & movement, fourth and fifth grade general music, and middle school band (6-8).  I also coach middle school cross country and teach after school music & movement to grades first through third.  I feel very lucky to be teaching in such a great school with excellent staff and community support.

Please feel free to send me an email if you have any comments, questions, or concerns.  I would love to hear from you!
