District 6 Strategic Plan - Reaching for Excellence 2009-14

Weld County School District 6 recognizes the need to be focused and strategic in order to raise student achievement, close achievement gaps, strengthen school-community relationships and improve organizational effectiveness. The first generation of the strategic plan, Reaching for Excellence 2006-2009, provided the foundation needed to begin our journey to excellence. Unlike many plans, Reaching for Excellence 2006-2009 provided a guide that was followed and began to reap rewards in terms of improved student achievement, organizational effectiveness and community relations.
June 2010 Update At its Monday, June 7, retreat the District 6 Board of Education received an update report on progress being made in the implementation of the 2009-14 strategic plan. Following that report, goals and “next steps” were discussed.

The Greeley-Evans School District 6 Board of Education’s view of accountability is represented by the decision to hire a new administrative team and call for a major educational audit. The ultimate consequence of the audit and input from the district community (students, parents, teachers, staff, and the Greeley-Evans community) is the development of this strategic plan—REACHING FOR EXCELLENCE.
