The District 6 Board of Education unanimously approved its new strategic plan for 2009-14, Reaching for Excellence, at its June 8 meeting.
The plan builds upon the previous, three-year strategic plan which led to a wide array of improvements, systems and reforms. Ninety-two percent of the strategies of that plan have been accomplished, with more still to be expected this year. One main goal and two supporting goals are the backbone of the new plan, each with specific standards to be achieved in the next five years: Increase Academic Achievement; Strengthen Relationships; Improve Organizational Effectiveness
