Hello Wildcats! I am J. Derek Haffner, and am excited to begin our journey as the new Student Graduation Interventionist here at the Castle! As a result of my 27-year career in the United States Air Force, traveling and exploring our world remains as a central focus of my life. Thus far, I have visited or lived in 104 countries on six continents. So, education is a relatively new chapter in the book of me. This is my fourth year in District 6 and my first, like many of our incoming Freshmen, as a Wildcat. Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, Colorado has been my home since 1996 along with my three children and the greatest dog in the world, a black Labrador Retriever named Cooper. I am a Colorado State University graduate, with a B.A. in Social Science, and am currently enrolled in a Master’s program at Duke University. My goal is your success, both academic as well as your transition to high school life in the Castle. Cheers.
