I am happy to welcome all our students and families to the 2015-16 school year. We are very excited to have our students back in school. This is going to be a great year!
Being new to District 6 myself, I understand that kind of nervous excitement that is in the air this time of the year. There might even be a touch of fear mixed in. That is totally normal! Starting a new school year is always a bag of mixed emotions for students and parents. But I promise you, we will take care of your children, we will give them the best education possible, we will keep them safe and well fed, we will address your needs and listen to your concerns. District 6 exists to serve your students.
In my new role as Superintendent of District 6, I have spent the last few weeks meeting with employees and community members, visiting schools, attending planning meetings and learning how this school district operates. I want you to know that I have been impressed. District 6 is doing some amazing things. Employees here care about your children and are committed to their success. Schools are safe, clean and provide quality instruction.
We are grateful you have entrusted your children to us and I want to assure you, we don’t take that lightly. If you have any questions or concerns during the school year, be sure to communicate those immediately to your children’s teachers and building administrators. We want to be sure your student’s needs are being met!
Thank you for choosing District 6. Your children will have amazing opportunities in our schools, with many programs administered by dedicated staff to serve their educational needs and interests.
Have a great school year! Let’s get learning!
