6 will host the 2013 Special Education Community Night from 5:30-8:15 p.m.
Tuesday, April 23 at Northridge High School.

 

Representatives from more
than 20 community organizations will be available to share information and
answer questions. Members of the Exceptional Student Services team will be
available to answer any questions parents may have regarding their childs
individual educational plan. There will also be several breakout sessions on
specific special education issues.

 

Beau Goldsby, a
young man with Williams Syndrome, will be the keynote speaker. He has faced
many trials growing up with a disability. He also has had many triumphs. Beau
shares his story with teachers, parents and students, hoping they will learn
that everyone has unique gifts and abilities, everyone has hopes and everyone
has dreams.

 

Free child care is provided
with pre-registration and lights snacks will be available. Parents of students
with special needs are especially encouraged to attend this event.
