Hello! My name is Bree Alvine, and I am one of the English Language Arts teachers here at GWHS.  2022/2023 marks my 13th year teaching, and it is my third year in the district! I grew up in Berthoud, Colorado, and went to every year of school there.  I was a cheerleader, a dancer, I played tennis, and was in 4-H.  After high school, I went to college at the University of Northern Colorado and earned my B.A. in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing and minors in History and Psychology.  I went back to school not long after to gain my Post-Baccalaureate License in Secondary Education, and began to teach in 2010! I also went on to earn my Master's in the Psychology of Leadership and Coaching from Walden University, and I have another Masters in Teaching and Learning from CSU!

At West, I run the Cosmetology club, and I teach yearbook, English 10, and American Literature.  I have also been known to coach track and field, cross country, cheer, poms, and fitness in the past.

I have two of my own kids: Jett is 17 and a senior this year, and Kaii is a freshman this year.  I love to travel (and take students on trips around the world every summer), run, do yoga, be with my amazing friends, and anything in the sun! I adore Disney, and one could classify me as a Disney adult, Friends, Brooklyn 99, Modern Family, and anything Marvel.
