Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to Room 7 and the 2018-2019 school year! This is my 20th year teaching at McAuliffe. I feel fortunate to work with such a terrific group of students, parents and teachers.
I graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Child Development (Go Beavers!). I obtained my teaching certificate through the University of Colorado-Denver, and I have a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Reading from Lesley University. Both of my sons attended school here and my oldest, Reid, graduated from the University of Utah and works in Salt Lake City. My youngest son, Michael, will graduate from CSU in December, and my husband has a business here in town. Our two "lively" dogs, Scout and Miller round out our family.
Second grade is an exciting grade to teach. Students really make the move to becoming more independent students. It is amazing to see the change from the beginning of the year to the end as they really do transition from being "primary" students to "intermediate" students. With an emphasis on S.T.E.M., we strive to offer many opportunities for collaboration, problem solving and creativity for our students.
Please do not hesitate to contact me via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or phone 348-1946. I want to make this a terrific year for your children.
Thanks for allowing me this opportunity to work with your students this year!
