            • Dear Parents/Guardians:

Scott Elementary, as part of the Greeley Evans 6 District, will have 3rd-5th Graders participating in the state required CMAS/PARCC test. Testing will take place from April 8 - April 26. Please make sure to schedule all appointments, absences outside of this window.

The testing will be one more source of information about the progress students are making. It will add to our school's benchmark testing, students daily work and portfolios, and teacher observation as ways for students to be assessed.

It is important that students do as well as they can during this test. Here are some things you as a parent can do to help students relax, but be ready:

                       1. Be certain Your child is here for the testing unless he/she is ill. It is the only opportunity this year to be tested.

                       2. Be sure your child had 9-10 hours of sleep.

                       3.  Have your child to school before the 7:40 bell so he/she can go into class unhurried and in tune with the class.

                        4. Let your child know that it is important to do his/her best. Some children will work faster or slower than he/she does. Some parts of the test will be easy and some parts will be difficult. Each child should ignore the other students and focus on just doing his/her best.

                         5.  Please have students leave their cell phones at home during testing. The phones will be removed from the testing room if they are here.

                         6. Let your child know how proud you are of them! They have and continue to work hard this year.

If you have any questions or concers about the testing, please contact your child's teacher or me at 348-2210.

              Mary Baker

              Assistant Principal
