Shawsheen Elementary earned first place for the 2017 Schools on the Move 5210 Challenge and with that honor has earned a $1500 cash prize. Students were challenged to make healthy choices throughout the month of February by eating 5 or more fruits and veggies, having two or fewer hours of screen time, enjoying one hour of physical activity and zero drinks with added sugar. We were the top school in Weld County! Way to go Thunderbirds! In addition, the teachers and staff earned third place for participation. Click here for more information.

Our Technology Committee made up of seven teachers wrote a grant proposal in an effort to bring powerful devices into the hands of our students. CenturyLink was excited to team up with us and awarded our school a check to purchase those devices. Thank you, CenturyLink!
Due to the high volume of traffic before and after school, we ask that streets are only crossed at the crosswalks. Please refrain from crossing the parking lot or streets where there is not a crosswalk. Please click here for tips on safe walking and parking at Shawsheen Elementary School. Thank you!
