Jennifer Owen
7th Grade Language Arts
Jennifer Owen is starting her third year at Franklin Middle School and her eighth year teaching English Language Arts. She is transitioning this year from eighth grade to seventh grade English and is excited about the new curriculum. Before joining the Franklin family, Jennifer taught a variety of grades ranging from sixth grade to college undergrads. Her most recent experiences were teaching at Colorado State University and Platte Valley Youth Detention Center. Having received her Bachelors degree in English Education and her Masters degree in English from Colorado State University, she settled with her family in Loveland, Colorado. In addition to teaching English Language Arts, Jennifer serves as the National Junior Honor Society sponsor at Franklin. She enjoys working with Franklin scholars and helping to shape future leaders. Before going back to school to become a teacher, Jennifer attended film school and worked in the film industry in California and Colorado for several years. Though she no longer makes films or television shows, she still enjoys watching them with her family. As a Colorado Native, she enjoys the changing seasons the front range offers and frequents pumpkin patches, the zoo, the mountains, and museums with her four children. They also love to embark on a good, competitive game night. She often has her head in a book and loves sharing her passion for reading with her family, her menagerie of animals, and her students.
