Mr. Jj Behrens

I am a Colorado boy at heart as I grew up in Eastern Colorado and graduated from Merino High School. Sports and activities truly helped motivate me to perform in school as I played football, wrestling, and baseball. I also participated in FFA, FCCLA, Drama, and 4-H. I furthered my education by attending Northeastern Junior College followed by completing my bachelors degree in Social Science at the University of Northern Colorado. I started my teaching career at Wray High School as a Special Education Teacher and head wrestling coach. While I was there, I also completed my Masters in Special Education thru Grand Canyon University. I then took the opportunity to move closer to home where I was a Special Education teacher/Transition Coordinator and head wrestling coach at Sterling High School for 4 years.  The idea of leaving the state never really crossed my family’s mind until we took a drive thru the bluffs in the Panhandle of Nebraska. It was at that time my family and I moved to Gering, Nebraska, and I was a Transition Coordinator and wrestling coach at Gering High School. After working there for 6 years, my family and I decided to come back to Colorado where we spent the next year at Chaparral High School in Parker, Colorado as a Resource teacher and assistant wrestling coach before landing here at Greeley West High School. I am currently starting my 3rd year here at Greeley West High School.
