Mr. Jason Garcia

Hello!  My name is Jason Garcia and I love being a Prairie Heights Hawk.  This is my 10th year working for Prairie Heights, all 10 years have been in 7th grade science.  In addition to teaching science I am also the Head Coach for the boys basketball program here at the school.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Sports Exercise Science from the University of Northern Colorado in 2009.  I was a certified athletic trainer from 2009-2015.  During those years I was an athletic trainer for Deming High School in New Mexico and the Club Sport athletic trainer for Colorado State University.  During my time at CSU I learned how much I loved teaching the Health Exercise Science students and decided to complete my Masters in Secondary Education.  I graduated with my master's in secondary education in 2013.

After completing my masters degree, I was ecstatic to be offered a position at John Evans Middle School (later to be transitioned to PHMS).  I have operated as a team cohort leader in my school, a member of the building leadership team and the science department chair.

I have been lucky enough to be married for 21 years now and have 2 children.  My son is in 12th grade and my daughter is in 6th grade.  They love Tae Kwon Do, arts and crafts and playing cello and violin in their school orchestra.  I love hiking, camping, long-boarding, e-biking and all things sports.  I grew up in California playing baseball from the time I was 6 years old.

Please feel free to contact me at jgarcia56@greeleyschools.org with any questions about the science curriculum or the basketball program.
