Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Joanna Sorensen
Hello, and welcome! My name is Joanna Sorensen and I am excited to officially be a part of the Greeley West staff for the first time. I student taught at Greeley West, and long-term subbed inbetween stints of teaching abroad in India and other countries in Southeastern Asia, Eastern Europe, and Southern Africa. Throughout this current 2019/2020 school year, I am teaching 5 blocks of American Literature, all of which are co-taught to meet the needs of our diverse student population. It's an honor to be working with the fantastic students at this school, as well as the wonderfully supportive staff.
I am the assistant Speech and Debate coach at Greeley West and assist with the German-American Partnership Program (GAPP). I love hiking, biking, and backpacking, and am a plant mom to some beautiful cacti.
I can be easily reached at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to getting to know you. Let's Be The Change!
American Literature is a survey of the literature and history that has developed since the establishment of the country. We will look at everything from poems to songs, short stories to novels, and everything inbetween. We will write, read, analyze, and discover how America has changed over the course of its history. As an American Literature team of teachers, we have extremely high expectations for our students, and we believe that our students can meet these expectations with hard work and perseverence!
