Mrs. Strickland

Greetings Sparrowhawks!

My name is Jenifer Strickland and I've been at Shawsheen as the Library Manager since the middle of the 2018-2019 school year (starting in January). I have a deep passion for reading for fun, for learning new things, and supporting our learners as they learn and find their joys. I have always found the library a great place to begin to find ourselves for the wide variety of voices and knowledge that can be found within the pages of a book! 

My husband and I are lifelong Coloradians, and came to Greeley 10 years ago intending to stay for a year. When our oldest started school at Shawsheen 10 years ago, we decided we liked it so much we'd stay a little longer. When our youngest started school at Shawsheen 5 years later, we realized we're not looking to leave Greeley any time soon. 

I come from a widely varied background, including management experience, graphic design, and journalism. When my own kids started school, I sought an opportunity to support education for all kids and found my way to this lovely little library in the heart of Shawsheen Elementary. I enjoy my work and supporting students and classroom teachers - but I secretly leap for joy when I hear someone say "I read this book. Is there anything else like it?"
