  • Jog-A-Thon

McAuliffe STEM Academy is happy to announce the first ever JogAThon!!  100% of the money raised in the winter JogAThon stays right here at McAuliffe.  Our event is the week of February 24-28, with each class jogging around the course set up by Mr. Paxton.  Students will jog around the course for 30 minutes during their classes PE class.

This fundraiser encourages students to be physically active at school while raising funds for an exciting new piece of technology that will incoropate all subject areas in the physical education setting.  This new interactive wall will incorporate Reading, Math, Science, Technology, and Problem Solving while also working on keeping kids physically active.  This will make McAuliffe the 2nd school in Colorado to have this type of technology in its gym.  We will also use the wall for various other activites at school like dances, family movie nights, district presentations, and PTO meetings.

    How It Works

All interested students are encouraged to participate.  The program will take place during the dates listed above when your student has PE.  Participants will jog as many laps as they can around the course in 30 minutes.  Students are encouraged to set a lap goal (anywhere from 1-100) for themselves and collect donations as flat rate pledges or per lap.  Parents or businesses may also donate and be included in various acitivities, awards and prizes will come in the days following the JogAThon.

    Before The JogAThon

Take your pledge form to relatives, friends, neighbors, and business owners! – Anyone you can think of and ask them to pledge a certain amount of money for each lap you jog.  For example, if a sponsor pledges you $1 per lap and you jog 10 laps, their total will be $10 owed when you return to collect.  Flat rate donations are also acceptable and can be collected immediately.  Online donations can be sent to the link listed on the back page.  Parents just need to follow directions listed on the back of this page.

On The Date Of The JogAThon:

Bring your pledge form to the school and when you have PE, you will begin jogging while someone counts the number of laps you complete around the course in 30 minutes, the number will be recorded on your pledge form.

    After The JogAThon:

Return to your sponsors or pledges with the verified pledge sheet indicating the number of laps completed.  Collect all outstanding pledges at this time.  Checks should be made out to McAuliffe STEM Academy.  Once you have collected all money for the event, turn them in to your teacher by Thursday, March 5th.

  • U.S. Census 2020

The goal of the 2020 Census is to count everyone once, only once, and in the right place. The Census Bureau will continue to improve its use of mobile technology, geospatial innovations, and internet self-response. For schools, the U.S. Census helps determine how much federal income comes into your school district every year in the form of nutrition disbursements, special education funding from IDEA, and Title 1 funding. Between 2011 and 2018, Colorado school districts received $3.56 billion. Learn more about the U.S. Census. It's important. It's easy. It's safe.
