Cultural Excellence and Family Engagement

  • The Department of Cultural Excellence and Family Engagement is dedicated to the constant and beautiful work of creating support in which our scholars and families will be engaged, empowered, and inspired about learning.

Family Engagement is a required component of Title I, the largest federal funded education program in the United States. Greeley-Evans School District 6 developed a Family Engagement Plan to provide opportunities to create partnerships among families, schools, and the community. This plan enables parents to be aware of educational expectations and become a full participant in their child's academic success. Greeley-Evans School District 6 is committed to working with parents and families to lower cultural barriers through mutual respect and understanding of the diverse backgrounds represented in the community. This commitment is an effort to increase communication between families and schools, which will positively impact student achievement.

Through the Family Engagement Plan, each Title I school holds activities during the school year for families as a support system to assist in their child's learning and achievement. These activities may include: family literacy, ESL (English) classes, technology classes, parenting education, community connections and family events. Classes and events emphasize a shared responsibility for improved student academic achievement.
