Science

  • Science at Brentwood Middle School is both challenging and exciting. In 6th grade Earth Systems Science, we explore the earth from atoms and molecules, water, forces of the earth,  natural resources, and finally climate/ecosystems/energy and how humans can change the earth and how we interact with our environment in a system approach. In 7th grade Life Science, we study living things from cells to genetics to body systems, then on to fossils, the geologic time line and how life is classified and how biomes/ecosystems and humans all interact. In 8th grade Physical Science, we cover basic chemistry and physics and go into more depth covering energy, weather and earth forces. Hands on experiments in and out side of the classroom give students practical and problem solving skills (rock gardens, vegetable gardens, watershed labs, atmospheric related labs and well water testing from the on campus test site.
