Some colleges and scholarships request that counselors, classroom teachers, coaches, etc., assess an applicant's ability, in which case they inform applicants of this on the application or by supplying them with recommendation forms. Keep in mind that letters of recommendation can strengthen your application. Give your letter writers at least three weeks to write the letter and THANK them. Recommendations from others (community leaders, influential friends, etc.,) are of less value to admissions officers and should be sent only after the student has conferred with their school counselor.

Letters may be requested from teachers through the Family Connection portal.
