The transition to high school is an exciting time. It is an opportunity to explore new opportunities, meet new friends, and begin to plan for the future. It can also be an anxiety provoking experience riddled with applications, deadlines, and decisions. We hope to ease as much of this anxiety as we can by providing information about options and assisting with all application procedures.
As information and applications become available, this page will be continuously updated. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Fay or the coordinators of the programs listed below. We look forward to working with you and your 8th grader during this exciting time.
Open Enrollment
All 8th graders will naturally roll to their boundary school (determined by the primary address listed in Infinite Campus) at the end of their 8th grade year at Chappelow UNLESS a parent/guardian submits an application for Open Enrollment. It is extremely beneficial to submit that application while the Open Enrollment window is open each fall as it places the student inside the priority consideration pool of applicants. Once the window closes, all applicants are automatically wait listed and are considered "late" applicants. All applications that were received inside of priority consideration must be exhausted BEFORE any late applicants can be considered for admittance.
Students interested in any of the programs listed below must attend that high school all 4 years to successfully complete the program. If that program exists at the student's boundary school, no open enrollment application is required. An application is only required if the desired high school is NOT the student's boundary school.
PARENT INFORMATION SESSIONS
Mrs. Fay will host two parent information sessions during your child's 8th grade year. The first is usually offered the last week in October, immediately prior to Open Enrollment opening. The second is usually offered in February, just prior to high school registration.October Session: Specialized Programs at the High Schools & Open EnrollmentWednesday, October 26, 2022 @ 6pm (in-person at Chappelow).
