Samantha was born in Fort Collins, Colorado. She grew up with her family in rural Weld County, where her family owned and operated a landscape company called Eaton Grove Nursery. Throughout her time in high school, she experienced a multitude of different opportunities. Samantha raised dairy heifers and showed at the local and state level. Additionally, she had jobs working at the local grocery store, rodeo arena, veterinary diagnostic lab and plant nursery.

Samantha did not intentionally choose to partake in the Agricultural Education program at Eaton. She originally planned on taking Spanish instead, this was due to the limited amount elective courses offered at Eaton High School. However, during Samantha’s first year in Agricultural Education, her FFA Advisor, Mrs. Heidi Lanning pushed her into participating in FFA activities. With the continued guidance of her Advisor, Samantha took on a multitude of leadership roles and extended her areas of interest through local and district officer positions.

Through this extensive exposure to Agricultural Education and FFA, Samantha was extended opportunities to train as an Agricultural Educator at Northeastern Junior College. During her two years at NJC she participated in the Aggies Club and became an officer. She continued her education at Colorado State University, in Fort Collins, CO. This is where Samantha double majored in Agricultural Education and Animal Science. She is now enrolled in a Master’s Program at Regis University, where she is studying Special Education.

Samantha started teaching at Wray High School in 2013-2014, then moved to Brighton, Colorado to continue her teaching career from 2014-2016. After having the opportunity to participate in several community committees and state associations, Samantha we provided with the chance to teach near her home town. Samantha now teaches at Greeley West High School.

Samantha has a multitude of interests in education. She has a unique passion for helping students who struggle financially and with learning disabilities. Additionally, she has discovered a love for helping teach English Language Learners, mainly those who are considered refugees status. When Samantha is not caught up teaching and working in the school greenhouses, she loves attending country concerts, making jewelry and reading.
