Hello and welcome to Greeley West High School! My name is Taylor Plantt, and this will be my fourth year teaching science here at West. As a graduate of the Greeley public school system, I care deeply about what it means to be a Greeley West student. After graduating from Greeley Central High School, I went on to seek a degree in Electrical Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines. After a couple years, I realized my true passion fell in my tutoring and teaching assistant job rather than my engineering studies, so I transferred to the University of Northern Colorado and received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Physics with an emphasis in Secondary Education. I later earned a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University.

Some of my interests include engineering design, video games, and working in my wood shop. Traveling has also been a life long passion of mine and recently I was a chaperone for a student trip to Costa Rica over Spring Break 2018, and am also a chaperon for the upcoming trip to Iceland in March 2020. I am fortunate enough to have an amazing wife who teaches elementary school in the district. We are expecting our first child this Decemeber and could not be more excited! I also have two dogs named Mira and Poe and a cat named Gretel. This summer I spent a couple weeks in training to teach a brand new class here at West, AP Computer Science Principles!
