AVID at Maplewood
We are so excited to be starting the 2020-2021 school year and beginning a new adventure in learning AVID with our students. AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. We will be using AVID strategies to engage our students and provide them with the critical skills to become confident, independent thinkers. We are so excited to see our students grow with these strategies and be able to provide additional supports as they start to become college and career ready! District 6 administrative offices, schools, and facilities will be closed Monday, January 18th in honor of Martin Luther King Day.

District 6 graduation rate continues to rise
Amid a pandemic and a move to remote learning, the on-time graduation rate continues to rise in Greeley-Evans School District 6 and exceed the state average. Graduation rates for Colorado school districts were released by the Colorado Department of Education today, and for the third year in a row, Greeley-Evans School District 6 has exceeded the state average for the number of students graduating within four years of starting high school.

District 6 Message on Attack on U.S. Capitol
The events at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday were an attack on our nation and our democracy, and the images on TV and social media were frightening. While order has been restored, we know these images and events can create anxiety and fear for both children and adults.

As we are ushering in a new year, the Greeley-Evans School District 6 Board of Education are looking back on 2020 - an unusual and challenging year - with gratitude and appreciation.
