• Athletic Update

In line with Governor Jared Polis’ announcement Monday, our district made the difficult decision to cancel in-person learning for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. This closure includes all in-person athletics, activities and events that would have taken place through the end of the school year.

In addition, all in-person athletics and other activities that normally begin after the end of the school year, are postponed through June 30. This action is being taken because the District sincerely believes it is the safest decision for our students, staff, coaches, and families, and is in the best interest of our community at large.

The District is in close communication with our local health department and is continually monitoring this situation. We will provide any updates as they become available.

For 8th grade students making the transition to high school, if you are already registered to attend Greeley Central, Greeley West, or Northridge, you can expect to receive information from that school in the coming week, to make a "virtual" connection with coaches and/or sponsors of respective teams or groups that you have interest in connecting with and staying up to date on information from those groups. If you should need more direct assistance from one of the high schools, please contact that school's athletic/activities director or the District athletic director:

  • Parent's Playbook Video

Playing sports is about much more than learning the physical skills of the game and winning championships. For students, playing high school sports is about having fun, building lifelong friendships, preparing to take on future challenges, learning how to be a good teammate, and simply enjoying the game.

So how can we as parents and coaches show up and support the student-athletes in our lives, regardless of performance or the outcome of the game? We sat down with high school students and asked them—why they play, how they feel about parental pressure, and what kind of support they need before, during and after the game.
