Leave of Absence

  • District 6 staff members have access to various leave types depending on their position within the district. 

    Please use the appropriate software system for entering your absence(s): Frontline/ Absence Management or IVisions

Request a Leave of Absence

  • You can Request a Leave of Absence.

    • Once you submit, Human Resources will contact you by email to schedule a virtual meeting. 
    • In the meeting:
      • We will go over approval or denial of the request
      • Type of leave it falls under
      • Accrued leave balance
      • Appropriate paperwork and next steps

     

     

Sick Leave Bank

  • Sick Leave Bank is the responsibility of the employee. The HR Leave of Absence meeting goes over the process and procedures, all the follow-through and paperwork is the responsibility of the employee. The Sick Leave Bank paperwork process is completely separate from your leave of absence paperwork. 

     

    Please ensure to turn in all appropriate paperwork for the Sick Leave Bank to your specific contact before it impacts your paycheck.

FAMLI Leave

  • Employees who wish to take FAMLI (Family and Medical Leave Insurance program) leave must notify their supervisor and Human Resources department as soon as possible, preferably at least 4 weeks in advance of the intended start date of leave. A leave of absence request form must be submitted to human resources at this time.

     

    FAMLI is designed to run concurrently with FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act). If FAMLI leave is used for a reason that also qualifies as leave under FMLA, then the leave also counts as FMLA leave, if the employee qualifies for FMLA.

     

    During FAMLI leave, employees will continue to receive benefits while also covered under FMLA. District 6 will not supplement pay/salary during FAMLI leave. If the employee is not eligible for FMLA, or has exhausted the 12 weeks of FMLA leave, the remaining leave, under FAMLI or any other leave, will be unbenefited.
