Volunteer Opportunities

  • Each District 6 school collaborates with volunteers differently to address the unique needs of their students and staff.   The following is a partial list of current volunteer positions available at our schools.  We also encourage volunteers to contact individual schools to learn more about available service opportunities.  Prospective volunteers must fill out an online volunteer application, which includes passing a background check, and receive an approval notification before they can serve at a District 6 site.

District 6 is looking for several volunteer AVID/GEAR Up tutors to work with students at the Family Center and several elementary, middle and high schools. Applicants must be willing to work within a variety of content areas with small groups of students under the supervision of a certified teacher in a classroom during the regular school day.  Tutors/Interns serve as guides and facilitators of students’ learning through questioning, writing, thinking, and discussing.  Applicants must maintain confidentiality and perform all functions of the position. The best qualification is caring about making a difference in the lives of students and the community.  Tutors/Interns may work a minimum of one hour per week, or multiple hours, depending on the tutors’ availability.  Applicants should have organizational and record keeping skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage time and meet obligations with minimal supervision.  Please contact Amanda Kreiger at (970) 348-6304 or akreiger@greeleyschools.org to learn more about this opportunity.
