Due to popular demand, Greeley-Evans School District 6 is opening additional tours of the new Greeley West High School, currently under construction to the west of the existing school.
Officials from Greeley, Evans and Weld County joined leadership from Greeley-Evans School District 6, the Board of Education and members of the Greeley West High School staff for the official breaking of ground at Greeley West High School. Contractor Adolfson and Peterson Construction and architects Hord, Coplan and Macht helped host the event for about 70 people who attended.
Construction will begin this summer on the new Greeley West High School. Preliminary site and school design was completed in May. A Design Advisory Group composed of teachers, administrators and students at the school provided recommendations and feedback to architects. Most of the existing school will remain in place during construction, and there will be little disruption to learning as the new school is built.
The Greeley West Design Advisory Group met on April 8 for a virtual meeting.. Architects from Hord, Coplan and Macht presented a preliminary schematic design for the new Greeley West High School. The architects presented a video “fly through” of what the exterior and interior of the new school would look like.
