Device: It is best to access these resources from a computer or Chromebook. However, some accessibility is still possible via smartphones, iPads, or tablets. You will need an internet connection.
Software: There is no special software needed to access online and virtual, distance learning materials. All the resources are web-based.
Internet Access: Internet access is required to complete online and virtual, distance learning. We have created a document to assist you in accessing the District 6 WiFi (English and Spanish). District 6 staff will continue to work with internet providers to offer short-term internet solutions for our community. Comcast has offered two months of free internet to families who qualify at https://www.internetessentials.com/covid19. Use the link at the top of that website to access languages other than English. If you do not have internet access at home, you can park your car close to a school building or public library to use the public wifi from the parking lot without leaving your vehicle.
Browser Requirements: All online and virtual, distance learning resources will work best when using the latest web browser version (Google Chrome 80, Firefox 74, Internet Explorer 11+, Safari 10+). If you are unsure about your browser, you can check and download the latest version at https://updatemybrowser.org/.
