Food Science 1 & 2
Grades 9, 10, 11 & 12
This course is the entry point to the Culinary Pathway. Food Science explores the fundamentals of science as they relate to food and nutrition. You will participate in lab experiments in relation to food production, preparation, utilization and evaluation.
Catering
Grades 10 (who have passed Food Science), 11 & 12
This class is for students with career interests in the Food Industry, as well as owning their own catering business. Students will develop skills in quantity food preparation, safety and sanitation, planning, customer service, business plans and entrepreneurship.
Baking & Pastry
Grades 11 & 12
This course is for students who have an interest in a career through Baking and Pastry Arts. You will learn to develop your culinary skills and food knowledge to become employable and employees are thought-after by local food service businesses.
Design Pathway

Design Seminar
Grades 9, 10, 11, 12
This course will give students an introduction to the elements and principles of design as seen in Interior Design, Fashion Design, Publishing and a variety of other fields. In addition, it will introduce students to the many careers that require design and allow them to analyze their own career pathways to determine where design might fit. This course is recommended as an introduction to the fashion and interior design pathway.
Interior Design
Interior Design 1 (Residential) & 2 (Commercial)
Grades 9, 10, 11, 12
ID 1: The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the Housing and Interior Design Industry. The area of focus is residential interior design. Topics covered are standards of universal design, related careers, elements and principles of design, historical housing, color plans, and the design process.
ID 2: This course is designed to increase the knowledge of skills of students who have completed Interior Design 1. The area of focus is Commercial Interior Design. Topics covered include professional Interior Design organizations, history of the design industry, fundamentals of commercial design, interior furnishings and finishes, design process and computer generated design. Students will complete a commercial project incorporating the design process and presentation boards.
Fashion Design & Merch 1& 2
Grades 9, 10, 11 & 12
The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the fashion and design industry. Topics include sewing technology, construction techniques, elements and principles of design, fashion terminology and history. Students will complete several sewing projects, as well as fashion-related projects.
