Vestas Apprenticeship

  • In partnership with Vestas, District 6 offers a nationally recognized apprenticeship in advanced manufacturing. The program is designed for rising high school seniors interested in starting a career upon graduation. 

     

    An apprenticeship includes paid work experience, classroom instruction, mentorship and industry credentials. 

     

    Apprentices are required to complete a minimum of 2,000 hours of on-the-job training and 144 hours of related classroom instruction (three classes). Upon successful completion of the program, students earn an industry certificate issued by the US Department of Labor.

     

    District 6 students interested in participating must be at least 17 years of age and have completed junior year of high school by the start of the program. Students interested in the program should notify their high school counselor.
