Foods Course Description

  • In Exploring Foods, students will receive a broad experience in subjects related to food and food preparation. Topics covered include:

    • Safety and sanitation
    • Measurements
    • Equivalents and kitchen math
    • Use of appliances
    • Hand toos and utensils
    • Cooking terminology
    • Nutrition
    • Careers
    • Hospitality and food consumerism

     

    A culminating activity for this course will be the planning, preparation and service of a snack or meal.
