Leah Alstad

Hello, Chappelow families! I am proud to be continuing my school counseling career at Chappelow. I was born and raised in Northern Colorado and am grateful to live in such a beautiful state. I enjoy all that Colorado has to offer, especially hiking and flyfishing. My favorite memories reside in the mountains. After graduating high school, I pursued a Bachelor of Science in Human Services at the University of Northern Colorado. Additionally, I paired this degree with a Minor in Spanish. I am passionate about traveling to other countries where I get to use my second language and connect with different cultures. After completing my bachelor's degree, I worked as a director of a Boys & Girls Club in Weld County. This experience enhanced my interest in pursuing a higher degree that would allow me to work with youth in a different capacity. I always knew I wanted to work in the schools and, in turn, pursued a Master of Arts in School Counseling at the University of Northern Colorado. I had the privilege of starting my school counseling career at Salida del Sol Academy, a K-8 charter school in Greeley that offers dual language education. I love the K-8 structure as it provides an opportunity to further develop relationships and a continuum of care for students. I am excited to be part of the Chappelow family!

I am a resource to students and families at Chappelow. Please feel free to contact me.
