Ms. Laidman

I am Katie Laidman, a 5th-grade teacher at S. Christa McAuliffe STEM Academy. This will be my 2nd year teaching here and I am looking forward to being at McAuliffe for many years to come!

Greeley became my home in 2016 when I moved here to attend the University of Northern Colorado. I studied Elementary Education with an emphasis in Teaching English as a Second Language, Bilingual and Bicultural Education, as well as Spanish. I have loved learning about and growing to become a part of the school community over the past 3 years as an educator in Greeley. I also am involved with the Greeley community through youth activities at the middle and high school levels.

Growing up in Colorado cultivated my love for the outdoors! I love camping, exploring national parks, kayaking, and more! When I’m not outside you can find me reading or scouting out the best local coffee shops. 

Our 5th-grade class is a place where everyone is loved, encouraged, and a participant in their learning. We work to achieve the mission statement that we create as a class during the first week of school. I am looking forward to learning and growing as a class this year!
