National Junior Honor Society

National Junior Honor Society is an organization for 7th and 8th graders that have demonstrated outstanding performance in the areas of:
- Scholarship
- Service
- Leadership
- Character
- Citizenship
These criteria for selection form the foundation upon which the organization and its activities are built. The purpose of NJHS is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, develop character, and to encourage good citizenship in the student members. NJHS participates in several activities throughout the school year including:
- Spirit Week Sponsorship
- Tutoring
- Volunteering in the community
- Sponsorship of the school talent show
The national minimum standard for selection into NJHS is the equivalent standard of excellence. Candidates are also selected on the basis of service, leadership, character and citizenship. Applications for NJHS are available in April for membership during the following year.
