This fall, I am beginning my 24th year of teaching at Greeley Central High School, and my 25th year overall in education.  When I came here in 1992, I thought it would be for a few years-  Oh how I was wrong! I have had offers to leave the castle as recent as last year and have found that my passion for this place and the students I get to teach each year has created a bond too strong for me to leave now.

I was born in Cherokee, Iowa, and my family moved to Loveland when I was entering the first grade.  I went to Thompson Valley High School in Loveland and from there went to UNC.  I graduated from UNC with a Social Studies degree with an emphasis in secondary education and began my teaching career right back at Thompson Valley High School.  I completed my master’s degree in Educational Leadership in 2003 from the University of Phoenix.

I came to Greeley Central in the fall of 1992 for the opportunity to be a head coach.  In the past 24 years, I have had the pleasure of serving in a variety of roles for the school including, head and assistant girls basketball coach, head and assistant football coach, Key Club sponsor, social studies department chair, district social studies coordinator, Colorado Youth Outdoor sponsor and AP coordinator.  The past few years I have co-sponsored National Honor Society, and this spring I coached tennis for the first time.  Teaching at Greeley Central has become much more than a job for me as I love what I do day in and day out.

I met my wife Kim in 1993, and we married in 94 and have been blessed with 3 kids.  Kennedy (14), Tristan (12), and Evie (10) keep life very busy at home.  I am now looking at education through an entirely different lens as a parent of students in elementary school and middle school and this year high school.  This past summer, we were fortunate enough to do a family vacation to Disneyland.

In my off time, I enjoy fly fishing, hiking, hunting, tinkering with old cars, and escaping into the mountains where my wife and I have taken on the task of building a log cabin.
