     - Our last time together as the 2016-2017 CUBS!-
On Thursday, May 18th Winograd CUBS large and small gathered together for one last time.  Each year the highlight of our May assemblies is the awarding of the "T-Time Teddies."  Every student who read consistently throughout the year was rewarded with a teddy bear and a book to take home with them.
Fourth grade students announced that with the money they had earned in the school store, they were able to adopt a tiger at the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, Colorado.  And May's Health Heroes (sixth graders Sylvia C. & Jayden B.) were also announced.
The winners of the highest average daily attendance for Primary, Intermediate, and Middle School grades were acknowledged, and we awarded third grade Math Masters, drew from the last batch of COURAGE Awards, and were treated to music selections from the middle school band.  The band also accompanied us as we sang the school song at the end of the assembly.
It was a great day to be a CUB!
     - Our CUBS were in the house!-
Winograd is proud of the seven student athletes that competed at Special Olympics which as held on Thursday, May 4th.
Almost all of the student body packed the stadium to cheer on our CUBS!  It was a great day for fun in the sun!

In preparation for state mandated testing, our students wrote personal goals for themselves which would help them demonstrate excellence every day.  The goals were written on stars, and the cascading stars were displayed in the main lobby of the school to encourage all of our students to "show what they know!"

Congratulations to our Kitchen Manager Mrs. Annabel Garcia!  She received one of the first “Celebrate 6” Awards from Superintendent Dr. Deirdre Pilch at the Greeley/Evans School District #6 School Board meeting on April 24, 2017.  She and four others were recognized as amazing people who go “above and beyond” to assist District #6 in providing the best educational opportunities possible for all students.
She was specifically mentioned as an employee who is a kind and helping member of the kitchen staff here at Winograd.  However, we know her as the awesome lady that feeds us every day!
Above, she is pictured with School Board Vice President Steve Hall and President Roger DeWitt.
    Congratulations Mrs. Garcia!
