Substituting is a wonderful way to gain experience and earn money while maintaining a flexible schedule! Substitute teachers and support staff are a vital piece to the education of students in our district. We believe you have the opportunity to greatly enhance learning in our community.Greeley-Evans School District 6 accepts substitute applications on an on-going basis for Certified (Teachers who have a teaching license or a four-year college degree with a Substitute Authorization) and Classified (Non-Licensed/Do not need a degree) staff.Greeley-Evans School District 6 is also seeking bilingual substitutes for all positions.
Certified Substitutes Only (Licensed Substitutes):In order to become a Certified Substitute Teacher, you MUST complete the following steps:1.) Submit an application through Applitrack2.) If you have a teacher's license from CDE, you do not need a Substitute Authorization. Please proceed to #6. If not, please proceed with instructions.3.) Before you start your application with CDE, you will need to be fingerprinted. Please go to the address below:Weld County Jail1950 "O" St.Greeley, CO 80631(970) 356-4015Hours: 8am-5pm, M-F (Closed during lunch from 12pm-1pm)Cost: $10.00 (Fingerprint cards are supplied at the Sherrif's Office)4.) Click on this link: www.cde.state.co.us/cdeprof/fingerprints . Please follow the instructions to send in your fingerprint card to CBI. CBI does not accept personal checks. Please send your fingerprints, along with $39.50 to:Colorado Bureau of Investigation690 Kipling St., Suite 3000Lakewood, CO 802155.) If you have a four year college degree and it is not "Education" related, apply at Colorado Department of Education (CDE) for a 3 Year Substitute Authorization license. If you are a "Retired Teacher" with a Professional Teachers license and would like to renew, you have the option to renew for another Professional License (May require credits to update) or a 5 Year Substitute Authorization (Does not require credits to update).6.) Once you have completed the above steps, please go to the bottom of this page to find a date and attend one of our mandatory New Substitute Orientation meetings. There you will complete the necessary substitute paperwork. Please see link below for all acceptable ID's for the I-9 form that will be provided at the orientation. Substitute Orientation Sign Up HERE.All applicants must complete a two hour New Substitute Orientation.
Orientations are from 9:00 am to 11:00 am (unless otherwise noted), and will be held in Conference Room A-2nd Floor at 1025 9th Ave., Greeley, CO 80631.Orientations will start again in August and dates will be posted here in July.
The orientation will cover everything needed to get you started as a sub for Greeley-Evans School District 6. We will meet at the Greeley-Evans School District 6 Administration Building at 1025 9th Avenue, Greeley. Please sign-up in the link provided above in order to attend the earliest date that works for your schedule. If you are unable to make it on these dates, there will be more orientations scheduled in the future.
Please bring two forms of identification (click here for a PDF file of acceptable documents). If you would like to be a Certified Substitute, you will need upload your current teaching license or 3 or 5 year Substitute Authorization onto your application, as well as official transcripts where your BA was completed. You do not need a teaching license or degree to be a Classified Substitute. Please complete the online application before you attend the meeting. Direct deposit is now mandatory, please bring a voided check to the orientation to set up your direct deposit.
