Communications & Community Relations
Greeley-Evans School District 6 is committed to consistent, timely and relevant communication with its stakeholders and the community. We know transparency is important for our students, staff, families and community members, and we work hard every day to provide the most up-to-date information for all those we serve.
The goal of the Communications and Community Relations Office is to increase public confidence and sense of ownership in District 6 by expanding the community’s awareness and understanding of the district’s plan for improvement and its accomplishments and achievements. We have received numerous state and national awards for our efforts, including the highest honor given by the Colorado Schools Public Relations Association - the Medallion Award - four years running.
To achieve this goal, the department facilitates internal and external communication for the district administration, families, students and all other stakeholders in Greeley and Evans.
The award-winning communications staff – which has extensive experience and education in multimedia communication, graphic design, journalism, photography, and public relations – gathers and disseminates information through numerous methods. Among them are: video, which includes professional-level recording, editing and graphics production for a range of programming online; print products including news releases, feature stories, photos, graphics, posters, flyers, brochures, and signage; online media ranging from the district website to Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube and direct communication with families and students through a tool called ParentLink, as well as a mobile app that allows families to opt into additional news and information.
This website is another aspect of the department’s expanding commitment to effective communication. It is continually updated with the latest news about district events, reports to the community and information essential to parents and students, from school lunch menus to safety information.
Information is also constantly updated on our Facebook page at WWW.FACEBOOK.COM/GREELEYEVANSSCHOOLS.
Staff members provide key support at Board of Education meetings, year-round aid to professional development, community engagement meetings, presentations to dozens of community groups each year, media relations, crisis-management support to schools and administrators, technical assistance for multiple media, and district representation on numerous community-oriented committees sponsored throughout Greeley and Evans.
