Electrical Maintenance Department

The Electrical Maintenance team’s responsibilities are focused on ensuring a safe, functional, and efficient learning environment for students and staff. 

Core responsibilities

  1. Preventative Maintenance 
  2. Reactive Maintenance and troubleshooting
  3. Safety and compliance
  4. Responding to emergency situations, such as power outages or electrical hazards, and implementing appropriate repairs.

Areas of emphasis

  • Elevators
  • Platform lifts (wheel chair lifts)
  • Stand by generators
  • Pottery equipment ( kilns, pottery wheels, and pug mills)
  • Maintenance lifts ( single-person, scissor, articulating)
  • Lights and Power ( switch gear, circuit breakers, outlets, switches, and other electrical equipment  
  • Coordination with various departments to provide electrical work which adheres to relevant safety standards and codes
