She puts her academics first, strives for excellence in the classroom, leads her classmates in group projects, and is committed to the clubs she's involved in. Emma has put in the time and effort to make herself a better softball player both physically and mentally, and is trusted by her teammates and coaching staff. She leads with confidence, embraces pressure, loves to be a part of any team. "An achievement I am most proud of is winning state with my team and being the winning run both times we beat Eaton this year, including in the State Championship."

What's one goal you're currently working towards in your sport?

"I am currently working on getting recruited by a good, high academic school."

Describe your worst sports performance. What did you learn from this experience?

"My worst sports performance was striking out in the last inning of the State Championship in 2024 when we lost. What I learned form this was how to deal with pressure better and to have more confidence in my abilities during high pressure situations."

Who are your role models in your sport or life, and how have they influenced you?

"My biggest role model in my sport is Coach Hutton. She has taught me how to be the best, most confident player I can be all while staying humble and classy in every situation. She has been working with me since I was in 6th grade, and has always helped me lean into the type of player I am and not try to turn me into someone or some type of player that I am not. She has inspired me with her humble and compassionate character, and has led me to be a better person in my day to day life, not just on the softball field."

How do you balance sports with other responsibilities like school or work?

"I balance sports with my other responsibilities by managing my time well. I workout most mornings before school to ensure that I can get all my homework done after school. I also manage my responsibilities. I have grown to understand that I can not do everything all the time and that it is okay to say no to some things."

What are your career or college plans after you graduate high school?

"I plan to play softball at a high academic 4-year university and study neuroscience."

What advice do you have for younger athletes who want to join your sport?

"Advice that I have for younger athletes is to not compare yourself or your journey with anyone else's. Everyone's timeline is unique, so enjoy where you are and continue to always trust the process. It will pay off one day."

Do you have any funny pre-game rituals or superstitions that you stick to?

"I always get a Venti Iced Green Tea Lemonade from Starbucks before every game, and I wear the same hairstyle every time I play (a bubble braid).

If you were to participate in a talent show unrelated to your sport, what would your act be?

"I would do a dance routine with my teammates. During the season, we created a dance routine for fun, so I would perform that with my teammates."
