"Academic All-State First Team. It proved all the hard work I was doing inside and outside of my sport, with controlling my grades, studying for my tests, and still managing my performance in my sport."

What's one goal you're currently working towards in your sport?

"One goal is to be better on offense because I am good on defense. But, if I could also up my offensive performance, I feel like it would help me overall be a better player."

Describe your worst sports performance. What did you learn from this experience?

"I would say my worst performance that I have had was this season when we went agains Central. My emotions were running high due to it being a rivalry game. During the game, I let my emotions control me causing me to not perform to my fullest potential. The thing that I learned from this is that as a player I cannot let my emotions be as high, and I have to stay in the proper mindset in order to perform well. And, that is what I have done since then."

Who are your role models in your sport or life, and how have they influenced you?

"The role models in my life have been my grandparents. They showed me what it is to sacrifice something of importance in order to help others, as well as the proper morals one should have in order to be the best version of oneself."

How do you balance sports with other responsibilities like school or work?

"In the morning, I usually have Speech and Debate practice. Then, throughout the day, I have school and a lot of rigorous homework. But thankfully, I have a great coach who allows me to have an hour a week in order to help with my load. but after practice, I usually eat, shower, then do my homework, and study for my IB tests coming up. The most important thing for me to keep me in balance is managing my time and doing homework ahead or maintaining it to where I do what is needed first and leave other items (like studying) for the weekend. By Sunday, have everything completed for that week and be ready for the next."

What are your career or college plans after you graduate high school?

"After high school, I will be going to UNC and majoring in Environmental Science and minoring in Political Science, then go to a law school. After that, I will become an environmental lawyer."

What advice do you have for younger athletes who want to join your sport?

"The advice that I would give is to make sure you put yourself first. In order to perform well and be on a flourishing team, you have to put yourself first. That way, you can be the best version of yourself while still having fun in the sport you're in."

Do you have any funny pre-game rituals or superstitions that you stick to?

"Honestly, I don't have one."

If you were to participate in a talent show unrelated to your sport, what would your act be?

"If I was in a talent show, I would probably juggle. I'm a pretty good juggler thanks to Mr. Krause."
