District 6 Honors Retirees

"Stay young at heart, kind in spirit, and enjoy retirement living."

More than 20 employees who have or soon will retire from Greeley-Evans School District 6 were honored last week at a dinner and celebration at the University of Northern Colorado Ballroom.

More than 200 people attended the event to celebrate employees who have given from two to more than 40 years to District 6 and its students.

"No one goes into public education to become wealthy, or to gain fame and power, even though you deserve all those things. You each entered your career in public education because you truly want to serve the children of our community, and in turn, make our community a better place for everyone," said Natalie Mash, President of the Board of Education. "You showed up every morning, knowing that young people were counting on you. Your service, your dedication and your kindness have made a difference in the lives of our students."

District 6 has 37 retirees this year, but not all were able to attend the celebration.

Congratulations to all this year's retirees!
