At the January 12, 2026 Board of Education Meeting, the Greeley-Evans School District 6 Council of Student Representatives proclaimed January as School Board Recognition Month. Read the proclamation below:

WHEREAS, School board members are elected to sit in trust for their diverse communities, and in that capacity are charged with meeting the community's expectations and aspirations for the public education of their students; and

WHEREAS, School board members are elected to serve the students of Greeley-Evans School District 6, and remain steadfast in their commitment to furthering student achievement and expanding opportunities through the continued implementation of the district's strategic plan Innovation2030; and

WHEREAS, School board members are entrusted with the guardianship and wise expenditure of tax dollars, and they are responsible for maintaining and preserving the buildings, grounds, and other areas of the school district that the community has put in their trust; and 

WHEREAS, School board members provide the essential leadership necessary to ensure a clear, shared vision of public education, setting high standards for the success of every student and demanding the effective and efficient operation of the district; and

WHEREAS, School board members adopt vital policies to give voice to that leadership and employ a superintendent to administer these policies, while maintaining diligent oversight of district performance and compliance; and 

WHEREAS, the individuals elected to these positions deserve our profound recognition and gratitude for their countless hours of volunteer service and their unwavering advocacy for the students of our district. 

THEREFORE, I, Sara Venegas, President of the Council of Student Representatives, on behalf of the students of District 6, do hereby declare my sincere appreciation to the members of the Board of Education of Greeley-Evans School District 6 and proclaim the month of January 2026 as:

SCHOOL BOARD RECOGNITION MONTH in District 6. I urge all students, staff, and citizens to join me in recognizing the dedication and hard work of our local school board members as we work together to mold an education system that meets the needs of both today's and tomorrow's students.
