Student Spotlight: Hailee Weeks, Early College Academy
Activities, Clubs, and Sports
I am involved in National Honor Society, Student Council, ECA Navigation Crew, Incite Magazine (treasurer), and Student Health Advisory Council. I have also been a varsity swimmer for the Greeley West High School swim team for 4 years. Additionally, I am part of the JBS Apprenticeship Program as Pilgrim's graphic design apprentice.
Career/College Plans
I will be attending University of Northern Colorado in the fall to pursue a dual degree in graphic design and marketing. For my career goals, I hope to get a full-time position with JBS/Pilgrims to continue my graphic design/marketing path. Eventually, I hope to start my own graphic design business.
Favorite Subject
My favorite subject is the humanities because I really enjoy understanding why people and the world work the way they do. My American History class with Casey Clay was the most fun and educational class I have ever taken.
Favorite Teacher
I technically do not have a favorite, but I do have amazing and meaningful connections with nearly all of my teachers at ECA. I love them all equally. They are all amazing and have helped me so much in achieving my goals.
Hobbies
I really enjoy scrapbooking (both physical and digital), and spend a lot of my time doing it. In my free time, you can always find me at Goodwill because I am an avid thrifter.
Favorite Food and/or Restaurant
I am OBSESSED with Asian food. I think soup dumplings take the number one spot for favorite food and then Tonkotsu ramen after.
Favorite Movie or Television Show
I don't have much time to watch television; however, my favorite movies are Real Genius and The Goonies.
Personal Goals
Traveling has always been a core part of my life, so as I head off to college and beyond, I hope to save up enough money to travel to at least one new place a year. I also collect postcards. My long-term travel-related goal is to cover a wall in my house with postcards.
What Do You Like Best About Your School
I love how many opportunities ECA provides to its students. Without the support from ECA staff and teachers, I would 100 percent not be where I am right now. Since we are such a small school, the staff have personal connections with nearly every students, and for me, having those connections helped me develop as a student and person.
